Paul Pugh has over 20 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across the public sector. He is currently director of Strategy and Delivery for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Previous roles include Chief Executive and Registrar General at HM Passport Office; head of the Regional Government Office for the East of England; Chief Executive of Centrex, the national police training agency; and 3 years in the NHS at North West London Strategic Health Authority and Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Trust.
Before that he held a range of senior policy roles in the Home Office, including leading the establishment of the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry and the implementation of its recommendations to improve equality and diversity in public services.He is a trustee of the Campus Educational Trust. He was previously a non-executive director of North Central London Strategic Health Authority, and chair of a school governing body in Haringey for 10 years.
