Sir Terry Morgan CBE, Chairman, Crossrail
Sir Terry Morgan took over the role of Chairman of Crossrail on 1 June 2009.
Crossrail is a £14.9bn project, sponsored by the DfT and TfL, to deliver a world class affordable railway that links Maidenhead and Heathrow west of London with the West End, the City and Canary Wharf, to Stratford and Shenfield north east of London and Woolwich and Abbey Wood to the south east.
Prior to this, Terry was Chief Executive of Tube Lines, a PPP company that was contracted to maintain and upgrade the infrastructure of the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines.
Terry is the past President of the CMI (Chartered Management Institute) and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Institute of Electrical Engineers. He has an MSc in Engineering Production & Management.
Terry is Chairman of Ricardo plc and in February 2017 was appointed Chairman of London City Airport and more recently has taken on the role of Chair of Crossrail International. In July 2018 the Department for Transport announced that Terry will take over as Chairman of HS2 on the 1st August 2018 to run concurrently with his current post as Chairman of Crossrail Ltd
Terry is past Non-Executive Chairman of the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry. He is also a Trustee of the Crossrail Art Foundation. In addition Terry led a skills review for the transport sector in support of the Government’s commitment to 30,000 apprentices by 2020.
Married with two children, his interests include golf and rugby.
