Wayne famously co-founded iconic London brand Red or Dead with his wife Gerardine starting with a small stall at Camden Market and Kensington Market selling second-hand and customised clothing.
Wayne and Gerardine built their business into an international fashion label and now operate a multi-disciplinary design agency, based in London, led by two generations of the Hemingway family and a wider team of talented designers.
From affordable and social design such as Staiths South Bank on Tyneside, to Dreamland Margate, and work with clients including Transport for London, Virgin Trains, the 2012 Olympics and Unite Students, HemingwayDesign are recognised worldwide with a core philosophy of aiming to "improve things that matter in life."
HemingwayDesign are widely recognised as the leading placemaking agency in London leading on event curation for Argent Kings Cross and Knight Dragon Greenwich Peninsula and have become the UK’s pre-eminent coastal regeneration team.
Wayne was a trustee of the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment and a on The Design Council board for almost a decade and for 8 years chaired Building for Life.
Wayne was awarded an MBE for services to housing and design in 2006.
