Winner 2017 - Nationwide
What is the criteria for the Best Application of Technology Award?
This award is open to any organisation that has successfully applied technology as part of an overall strategy to improve its customer service and satisfaction offering. Technology can be new, existing or applied in an innovative way to give competitive advantage. Judges looked for evidence that the technology has provided a specific solution and how the integration of the technology is measured as successful.
Why did Nationwide Building Society win the Best Application of Technology Award?
Nationwide is the world’s biggest building society serving its 15 million members and customers. It employs 18,000 and operates 700 branches. With increasing pressures on the financial services sector, it wasn’t feasible to have a specific advisor for Banking, Savings and Mortgages in each of the 700 branches, so the company developed Nationwide Now a digital platform which enabled it to grow its business while providing a superior service to its customers. Appointment waiting times are at record lows and issues with employee absence and fluctuations in demand have been virtually erased.
