Car manufacturer Skoda has launched its first online showroom, allowing customers to gain a showroom experience at a time and place to suit their needs.
Prospective customers now have the possibility of engaging in an online consultation with a Skoda product host to experience the brand’s latest models. A simple button on the product homepage allows users to request an immediate call back or arrange an appointment at a time convenient to them.
“Customers are seeking convenience and excellent service when looking to make a car purchase, and with more and more people doing their research online ahead of going to the showroom, the Skoda Live Tour brings the retail experience to a digital world that is easily accessible,” says Jonathan Harris, Skoda new retail concepts manager.
“This is an important step for the brand and the future of automotive retail and how we interact with customers. Once we have opened up dialogue with the customers in the online environment, we then encourage them to visit a Skoda retailer and test drive our models for real.”
During the live tour, Skoda product hosts can assist customers in selecting the options on their desired vehicle and help them locate their nearest Skoda retailer.
The launch is in line with key findings from The Institute of Customer Service’s Customer of the future report. The research identified 12 factors of change that will be especially influential in shaping the customer of the future and the environment in which organisations operate.
In particular, it found that the pace of change and increased complexity will fuel a rising demand for convenience in both business and consumer markets, stimulating innovations in customer experience.
