This award recognises any organisation that had successfully applied technology as part of an overall strategy to improve its customer service and satisfaction offering. Technology used could have been new, existing or applied in an innovative way to give competitive advantage. Judges seeked evidence of the solution that the technology had provided and how the integration of the technology was measured as successful.Openreach won the award after becoming the UKs biggest corporate user of iPhones in pursuit of delivering a more comprehensive customer service. Openreach has developed a range of applications to improve efficiency and productivity which has enhanced the customer experience. In addition to the innovative use of the apps used for customer service the Institute was also impressed with the sheer scale of the roll-out of this smart-technology.
