Sonia Astill is the Chief People Officer at Wickes Group, a role she’s held since 2019. She brings a diverse background in HR and organisational development, having worked across retail, technology, and manufacturing. You might recognise some of the places she’s been – like Travis Perkins as their HR Director, and nearly 20 years in senior HR roles at Kingfisher and Home Retail Group.
Notably, she played a key role at Argos as HR & OD Director, guiding their people strategy through a major digital transformation. She started her career as an Industrial Engineer at Courtaulds Chemicals before moving into HR ahead of joining IBM.
Now, at Wickes, she’s passionate about building inclusive, engaging and collaborative workplaces and using education, data, and good policies to make a positive impact.
