Steve spent 17 years at a Financial Services Company in roles spanning audit, risk management, and project management. In 2002, he joined My Travel to lead Risk Management and soon contributed to its Turnaround Team. By 2008, he became Managing Director of Scheduled Business after merging My Travel and Thomas Cook’s non-risk operations. Seeking a different culture, Steve left after a year.
Steve joined Jet2holidays as Managing Director in 2009, tasked with growing the fledgling tour operator. After two years, he became Chief Commercial Officer of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, and in 2013 was promoted to Chief Executive Officer and joined the Dart Group Board. In 2020, following Dart Group’s rebranding to Jet2 plc, Steve continued as Executive Director and Chief Executive, driving the company’s growth.
Steve is a member of the Chartered Institute of Governance, a fellow of the Institute of Travel & Tourism and a member of the Institute for Turnaround and then more recently, Steve was appointed as a Director of the ABTA Board, taking up the position on 25th March 2021.
