Head to Head with Jenny Herrera, CEO (Good Business Charter)

Our CEO, Jo Causon will be meeting with Jenny Herrera, CEO at Good Business Charter, as part of our Head to Head series to discuss leadership and challenges faced.
Jenny Herrera is the CEO of the Good Business Charter, which recognises responsible business practices across 10 components covering care for employees, customers, suppliers and the environment whilst also paying tax according to the spirit of the law.   Jenny is a chartered accountant by profession and was involved in the development of the Charter, ahead of its launch in 2020. As CEO of a small team her responsibilities are extremely broad, from government engagement, working closely with large organisations exploring accreditation, seeking to promote greater awareness of the GBC and overseeing the finances!
The past fifteen years has seen Jenny work closely with retail entrepreneur, Julian Richer to launch and build up three charities: Acts 435, an online giving charity that has helped over 60,000 people in UK poverty; ASB Help, a charity supporting victims of anti-social behaviour; and the Good Business Charter to set a clear standard for how businesses should behave. Having seen the impact of low wages and insecure work on those in UK in-work poverty, and the impact of poor human rights down the supply chain when running a children’s home in Guatemala, the GBC aligns with her own personal passion to see people and planet properly cared for and not trampled over in pursuit of profit.
