Head to Head with Ian Cameron (UK Power Networks)
Ian Cameron, Director of Customer Service Innovation at UK Power Networks, will be meeting with Jo Causon, CEO of The Institute of Customer Service, as part of our Head to Head series to discuss leadership and challenges faced.
Ian has over 25 years’ international experience in the electricity distribution networks industry. His background is in network operations, capital construction & connections, with a specific focus on renewables and process optimisation.
His responsibilities at UK Power Networks include customer service, stakeholder engagement, innovation and facilitating Net Zero.
Ian spent over 12 years’ with Eskom in South Africa as a regional operations manager, and then joined UK firm Freedom Group, delivering major capital projects across the south east. Since joining UK Power Networks in 2013, Ian has overseen the delivery and connection of over 230 grid scale renewable distributed generation sites, adding over 4GW to the grid, before moving on to head the industry-leading Innovation Team focussing on the decarbonisation of the grid, transport and heating. More recently, Ian has led high performing teams to achieve industry leading customer service.
Ian holds two degrees, one in Electrical Engineering and another in Mechanical Engineering.
